went to my old school yesterday morning (so proud of myself for waking up early on a sunday morning, i tell you. haha) to attend our friends' oath taking ceremony. we were one heck of "stage friends" (if there's such a thing), you can't blame us though. we were just so hyped and proud of our friends who finally made it and are now officially RNs.
anyway, the ceremony calls for something formal/smart casual outfit. so i decided to wear this pink dress. i don't really go for well-thought or structured looks but if anyone would ask me how i would describe my style, i really can't answer that. i mean with all honesty i think i am still exploring. which is quite good so far. and about the earrings, i don't normally wear one so yesterday was totally an exception.
i think i have to end my post here. going to get some nap before i head out for review. have a great week ahead of you guys! :)
i know i'd be moving around a lot last sunday and i know how hot it would be so i made sure to dress up appropriately and comfortably. remember that DIY shirt from this post? well i took it out for a spin and paired it with a black denim cut-offs and wore my blue reliable flats which actually matched my bandeau. what do you think?
you must have known Natalie Suarez of Natalie Off Duty right? well, i just love this video campaign of her teaming up with Nicole Richie for Macy's. 5 bloggers were chosen to style a leather dress from their new collection in 5 ways! and i think Natalie just killed it. the video was really cool, so her!
just showing you guys what i wore on a thurs-date with friends so sorry for the very bad quality of photos. we were chasing the sun when we actually took these photos. haha i know how basic this look is; just sweater + blue jeans combo so i opt to wear/borrowed my sister's bright yellow oxfords (which i personally call the McDonald's shoes) to give this look a little life.
another free day tomorrow and planning to meet some friends.
not to worry if you haven't seen the show live. good thing we have youtube. here is the video from yesterday's Topshop Unique SS13 show during LFW. i was really drooling over their collection the moment i saw the sneak peek from Andy's blog. its like i can feel each material on my skin haha. wishful thinking!
and by lazy i mean putting on the first things you see in your closet. well i just had this DIY top, black denim cut-offs, flats and finished this look by piling on some bangles creating a little arm party. that's all folks.
we were instructed that day to wear our school uniform or wear anything with collar for an i.d picture taking. of course since i had the option not to wear our uni, i went with wearing civilian. it was an easy feat. if you rummage my closet, you'll find a lot of collared tops. the white polo paired with those denim pants was formal enough for me and i just wanted to go laid back that day so i tied the front part and wore some kicks which i think worked. and later did i realize that i was leaning towards K. Stew-esque look. haha
made a DIY last week. i was home alone on a thursday night so i thought of doing something productive since i didn't want to study. i found something like this while i was browsing the net a few weeks back so i gave it a try. grabbed one of my dad's extra white hanes. cut a piece of cardboard paper of my desired size for the boxes and used it as my pattern. when i finished plotting all the boxes i started cutting them out. and little did i know that it would take me so much time in cutting them because i have to be extra careful not to cut the entire thing. good thing though, i loved how it turned out. anyway, i didn't want it to look so baggy on me, i just want it to look so carefree so i cut the hem shorter and its armholes.
i was lusting over this round vintage-looking sunnies from f21.
i'm not really the pants type of girl, i feel conscious everytime i wear one because i'm petite and i always think that it would make me look shorter than i already am. but i have no choice because there are strict dress codes that we have to follow. so i just have to find the perfect fit of pants for me which is usually really hard. what i mostly do is buy a good looking pair of pants and just have them altered to get my desired fit. do you also encounter the same dilemma that i do?
yesterday's look. went for something really casual on a day out with my mom running errands in the city. the weather's fickle minded like me. 2-3 days ago the rain was pouring so hard causing flood at the metro and yesterday, the heat was unbearable. my outfit wasn't even enough. i wonder how people would react if i was wearing two-piece walking around because of the severe heat i was feeling with all the sweat! LOL JK. anyway, haven't posted any LOTD for quite awhile already so i hope this covers despite the bad quality of the photos. my mom took this using my phone so i think mom + phone explains why.
